Summer time means Picnic Time!

Isn’t it lovely to eat outdoors with your baby?  Enjoy the summer this year with these great picnic recipes for weaning babies – they’re so good the whole family will love them too!

Yoghurt Bark is perfect for soothing teething gums plus its an excellent healthy snack on a warm summer day!

Feel free to add your own fruits, seeds or nuts dependent on your tastes.

Ingredients:

100g raspberries , 100g blueberries halved,  300g thick Greek yoghurt    Yogurt bark for teething

Method:

Simply combine all the ingredients in a bowl and then spread the mixture until it is quite flat, onto a baking tray lined with greaseproof paper.

Freeze the mixture overnight and when ready to eat break if into pieces that your toddler can pick up and chew.

For smaller babies freeze for less time and serve  as a chilled yoghurt purée.

 

Mango and melon purée

This puree can be made as smooth or as chunky as your baby requires, its a perfect refreshing snack on a hot summer day. Pack into a tupperware to take out and about with you!

Ingredients:

1 ripe mango, peeled and diced

1 thick slice of cantaloupe melon

1 ripe banana

Method:

Combine all ingredients in a food processor and blend until smooth.

Serve chilled to ease those sore gums.
